I’m fundraising on behalf of my friend, Valerie, and her family. Valerie is a dear friend and was my college roommate. Her oldest son, Azran, was born with a rare condition that affects his skeletal structure and muscles. The hospital that specializes in his rare condition is Nemours Children’s Hospital in Delaware. They live in northern Vermont so getting Azran there is not as simple as driving to a local hospital. Due to his condition, Azran’s spine has been curving despite wearing braces daily for 6 years. His doctors think it’s time for his next surgical intervention which will require him to be in the hospital for at least 5 weeks.
The whole family, including Azran’s 2 younger siblings, will be relocating to Delaware for the duration of his hospital stay. They will be staying at the Ronald McDonald House while they’re there.
This, understandably, comes with a lot of challenges including insurance issues, lodging challenges, appointment coordination and the heaviness of knowing what Azran will have to go through.
For those of you who don’t know this amazing family, I cannot emphasize enough how beautiful and faith-filled they are. Valerie’s husband, Chad, recently had a traumatic accident involving his hand and he is still dealing with the pain and therapy that comes with this. Despite the overwhelming challenges that life throws their way, they do everything possible to maintain a calm and positive life for their children. They are a true example of the beauty of the human spirit.
Anything you can do to help ease the Brosseau’s financial burden and help keep them afloat during this trying time is truly, deeply appreciated.
