Azel and Brendan Surrogacy and Debt

Hi friends, family and (probably some) new and friendly faces!

My partner, Azel, and myself (Brendan) have always wanted to start a family and have been trying all sorts of avenues. We've attempted the adoption route and, with recent changes, adopting has been more challenging. The Ministry of Social Services have made adoptions more similar to fostering, and we're not mentally nor emotionally prepared for a child to be potentially taken back to family after living with us for however long.

Azel and I have always wanted children, and we would love to have a biological child and be able to share this with our parents. There are so many biological factors in the way (we are, after all, both men).

We've been grateful that a friend of our family has come forward to offer to have a child for us and we are excited for it, however, the process incurs a lot of fees and we would like to be able to pay for different processes like Intrauterine Insemination (IUI - up to $680), IVF (up to $12,000 with extra costs of medication), storage of...specimens (up to $800) and possibly freezing eggs if we need (up to $9,000).

The costs are a lot for any family and we have incurred debt from many different things that have come up since purchasing our house and getting ready for things for Social Services (flooding in basement, upgrading and securing the yard, etc...its home owning) as well as completing my University degree for a master's in Educational Psychology.

We are hoping to ask for help with paying down our debt and covering some of the services required to hopefully have a baby naturally, that's biologically related to us. If you know the two of us, you know how important having a family is to us but we can't keep getting animals!
