Hi all,

My name is John Howard and I am fundraising for Corrin Nature Reserve Annual Sunflower Day on Sunday 24th August 2025.

The nature reserve is open to the public free of charge all year round and is a fabulous local and educational outdoor amenity to have on our doorstep here in the Fermoy/Rathcormac/Castlelyons area. It is looking at its best now with all the flowers in bloom and the bees and butterflies so active on sunny days.

The maintenance and day to day running costs of the reserve far outweigh the donations so this fundraising day is vital to the upkeep of the reserve. The reserve consists of a beautiful stroll through Coillte’s woods to access it and then there are 6 acres totally devoted to wildlife. Inside there is Butterfly and Bee Biodiversity Garden, 1000 metres of walkways, a duck pond, a frog pool, a water feature and fountain, 100 hardwood trees, A native Grey Partridge re-introduction programme, a composting unit, solar and wind powered programmes, gamecrops, wildflower meadows and some natural old bogland of course.

The Nature Reserve is owned and managed by www.rathcormacgameandwildlifeclub.ie.

We are on all social media platforms. The committee have pledged 50% of the profits of the Sunflower Day to Marymount Hospice so you will be also helping another very worthy cause by donating. In 2023 we gave over €2,000.00 to Marymount and aim to better that this year. If you wish to visit sooner or can’t make it on the day donate on our Go Fund Me page.

Complimentary teas and coffees served all day along with refreshments for the children. Light music all day, Afternoon tea dancing, face painting and plenty of wildlife to enjoy. See agenda updates on social media.

The Butterfly season is in full swing now so see the many species here if the day will be fine. Strictly no dogs allowed.

Pick as many sunflowers as you like or just take a photos but please donate. 50% of the profits will be donated to Marymount Hospice. Call John on [phone redacted]3 for any queries.
