The Ali Forney Center was founded in 2002 in memory of Ali Forney, a gender-nonconforming youth who was forced to live on the streets, where they were tragically murdered. Their mission is to protect LGBTQ+ and young people from homelessness, and to empower them with the tools needed to live independently. Their center is the nation’s largest provider of shelter and wrap-around services for LGBTQ+ youth.
