EN: Yuselin Ojeda is a Venezuelan mother, a hardworking fighter, that arrived to Dallas seven years ago with one dream: give her son a better future.
Since then she has faced every challenge by herself, working every day to pay her rent, food, education, sport activities and everything necessary to bring her 10 year old son forward.
Just like many immigrant mothers, her life has been a constant effort, struggle and hope. Everything she has done has a single purpose: that her son grows with opportunities and stability.
On March 13, what seemed like a quick trip to Target ended up becoming an unexpected nightmare.
Yuselin left her vehicle only with her credit card, since she was going to make a quick purchase. In the parking she was stopped by officers that asked her for her personal documents. Her documents were inside her car, but she didn't have the chance to get them nor to explain the situation. She was handcuffed and moved to a detention center in Dallas, where she is located today.
Thankfully, her son was not able to witness this since he was at school.
Today, that child is facing a hard reality: sleeping without his mother, without fully understanding why she is not home.
Currently, her son is under the care of his uncles, while her family fights against time to find legal help.
Yuselin still does not count with a lawyer, and that is why we need urgent help to get $15,000 for:

Desde entonces ha enfrentado sola cada desafío, trabajando día tras día para cubrir la renta, la alimentación, la educación, las actividades deportivas y todo lo necesario para sacar adelante a su pequeño de apenas 10 años.
Como muchas madres inmigrantes, su vida ha sido una constante batalla de esfuerzo, sacrificio y esperanza. Todo lo que hace tiene un solo propósito: que su hijo crezca con oportunidades y estabilidad.
El 13 de Marzo, lo que parecía una salida rápida a Target terminó convirtiéndose en una pesadilla inesperada.
Yuselin bajó de su vehículo llevando únicamente su tarjeta de crédito, porque iba a comprar algo puntual. En el estacionamiento fue interceptada por oficiales que le solicitaron su documentación personal. Sus documentos estaban dentro de su carro, pero no tuvo oportunidad de buscarlos ni explicar la situación. Fue esposada y trasladada inmediatamente a un centro de detención en Dallas, donde permanece retenida hasta hoy.
Gracias a Dios, su hijo no presenció este momento porque aún se encontraba en la escuela.
Hoy ese niño enfrenta una realidad muy dura: dormir sin su mamá, sin entender completamente por qué ella no está en casa.
Actualmente su hijo se encuentra bajo el cuidado de sus tíos, mientras la familia lucha contra el tiempo para conseguir ayuda legal.
Yuselin todavía no cuenta con un abogado asignado, y por eso necesitamos apoyo urgente para reunir $15,000, destinados a:
• Honorarios legales y defensa inmediata
• Gastos del proceso migratorio
• Apoyo para el bienestar de su hijo
• Gastos básicos familiares durante esta emergencia
