Ayuda para tia Carolina, Help aunt Carolina

Por favor ayúdanos a salvar la vida de la tía, Carolina Astudillo. Mi tía se encuentra muy delicada de salud en Perú donde llego como inmigrante y reside desde hace 4 años, debido a la situación política y económica de Venezuela. Desde agosto del año pasado ella empezó a presentar dolores abdominales, en ese momento fue a varios especialistas, médicos internistas, gastroenterólogos, y lo que hacían era ponerle tratamiento de antibióticos por la vía y decían que era una parasitosis intestinal, pero a pesar de que estuvo un buen tiempo en tratamiento no mejoraba, el 14 de septiembre del 2021 ingresan a mi tía de emergencia porque le hicieron una ecografía y se dieron cuenta que tenía una septicemia, estaba toda contaminada por dentro e ingresa a quirófano bajo el diagnostico de peritonitis, pero cuando sale de la operación, el doctor nos indica que lo que tenía era un absceso pélvico y estuvo un tiempo internada recibiendo tratamiento, mejoro un poco pero no del todo, en el mes de octubre del 2021 vuelve a recaer es ingresada al hospital con síntomas muy parecidos a la vez pasada y deciden hacerle una tomografía y es donde dan con su posible diagnóstico, la enfermedad diverticular, esta trata de que en una parte del intestino específicamente en el colon se crean orificios por donde salen desechos y hacen que se formen abscesos; mi tía estuvo hospitalizada dos semanas y logró recuperarse un poco, en diciembre 24 del 2021 empieza nuevamente con dolores abdominales y le aparece una mancha roja en la parte baja del abdomen, ahí le realizaron una ecografía junto con una tomografía y se dan cuenta que nuevamente tenía otro absceso y que este si requería de cirugía, estuvo en recuperación desde enero a marzo del 2022, hasta esta semana que comenzó nuevamente con síntomas como las veces anteriores.

Para la fecha de hoy, 5 de abril de 2022, ella se encuentra hospitalizada, aun sin un diagnóstico claro, le realizaron una ecografía y arrojo otro absceso en la parte del abdomen y una fistula que está perforando el intestino. Aún falta por hacerle muchos estudios, ya que no se explican porque siguen saliendo los abscesos y en el mismo lugar, lo más probable es que necesita otra operación; hay que hacerle una biopsia, cultivos para dar con el diagnóstico definitivo, ya tiene 8 meses en este proceso y no hay mejorías, se recupera un tiempo y vuelve a recaer cada vez peor

Todos estos procedimientos son muy costosos y no tenemos lo recursos suficientes para continuar con todos los gastos médicos. La tía siempre ha sido una mujer guerrera, trabajadora y emprendedora que ha estado siempre allí para sus hijos y familia, con un corazón enorme y que siempre está dispuesta ayudar a otras personas. Cualquier ayuda que podamos recibir en este momento para poder cubrir estos gastos y salvar la vida de mi tía Carolina es bienvenida y de antemano damos las gracias y les deseamos muchas bendiciones.

Please help us save aunt’s Carolina life My aunt is in very delicate health in Peru, where she arrived as an immigrant and has reside for 4 years, due to the political and economic situation in Venezuela. Since August of last year, she began to have abdominal pain, at that time she went to several specialists, internists, gastroenterologists, and what they did was treat her with antibiotics through the IV and the doctors said it was an intestinal parasite, but even though she was in treatment for a long time, she did not improve. On September 14, 2021, my aunt was admitted to the emergency room after having an ultrasound done, where the doctors realized that she had septicemia, she was all contaminated inside, and she entered the operating room under the diagnosis of peritonitis. But, when she comes out of the surgery the doctor tells us that what she had was a pelvic abscess and she was hospitalized for a while receiving treatment, she improved a little but not completely, in the month of October 2022 she relapses again, and is admitted to the hospital again with symptoms very similar to the last time and the doctors decide to do a CT-Scan and this is where they find her possible diagnosis, diverticulitis. Diverticulitis is small, bulging pouches that can form in the lining of your digestive system, it forms holes in the intestines through which waste comes out and causes abscesses to form, she was hospitalized for two weeks and managed to recover a little. On December 24, 2022 she started again with abdominal pain and a red spot appeared in the lower part of her abdomen, this time the doctors performed an ultrasound along with a tomography and they realize that she had another abscess again and that this one did require surgery, she was in recovery from January to March 2022, until this week, when she started again with symptoms like the previous times.

As of today, April 5, 2022 she is hospitalized again. Even though the doctors don’t have a clear diagnosis, they performed an ultrasound and found another abscess in the abdomen and a fistula that is perforating the intestine. There are still many studies to be done because they are not sure why the abscesses continue to appear in the same place, it is most likely she will require a surgery, and a biopsy, cultures must be done to find the definitive diagnosis. She has been in this process for over 8 months and there are no improvements, she recovers for a while and relapses worse and worse.

All these procedures are very expensive, and our family do not have enough resources to continue with all the medical expenses. My aunt has always been a warrior, hardworking and woman who has always been there for her children and family, with a huge heart and who is always willing to help other people.
