Help Karina and Her Children Start Over in Mexico

“ Hello, my name is 

Karina. I am a mother of three children and the wife of a loving and responsible husband who has always worked hard to support our family.

A few days ago, my husband was detained by ICE, leaving our family without his support and facing a great deal of fear and uncertainty. I am now facing an incredibly difficult decision: whether to return to our country of origin, Mexico.

Everything we have built over the years was built here in the United States—with hard work, sacrifice, and dreams for our children. Leaving everything behind is heartbreaking, especially because we would be returning to Mexico without savings, or the resources we need to start over.

I have an adolescent son with autism, and I also have a 2-and-a-half-year-old child who was born here and has autism as well. During his first year of life, he experienced seizures that affected his development. He currently takes medication to help prevent additional seizures.

The thought of arriving in Mexico with my children, without financial resources and while trying to make sure they have everything they need, is extremely frightening. At the same time, remaining here while our family is facing this situation and uncertainty is also very difficult.

That is why I am humbly asking for your support. Any contribution, no matter how small, would help us begin again in Mexico and provide for our children during this difficult transition. The funds will help with transportation, food, medical needs, medications, and other basic expenses as we work to rebuild our lives.

Ayuda a Silvia Karina y a sus hijos a empezar de nuevo en México 

“ Hola, me llamo Karina. Soy madre de tres hijos y esposa de un hombre cariñoso y responsable que siempre ha trabajado duro para mantener a nuestra familia. Hace unos días, mi esposo fue detenido por ICE, dejando a nuestra familia sin su apoyo y enfrentándonos a un gran temor e incertidumbre. Ahora me encuentro ante una decisión increíblemente difícil: regresar a nuestro país de origen, México. Todo lo que hemos construido a lo largo de los años lo logramos aquí, en Estados Unidos, con trabajo duro, sacrificio y sueños para nuestros hijos. Dejarlo todo atrás es desgarrador, especialmente porque regresaríamos a México sin ahorros ni los recursos necesarios para empezar de nuevo. Tengo un hijo adolescente con autismo y también un niño de dos años y medio, nacido aquí, que también tiene autismo. Durante su primer año de vida, sufrió convulsiones que afectaron su desarrollo; actualmente toma medicación para prevenir nuevas crisis. La idea de llegar a México con mis hijos sin recursos económicos, mientras trato de asegurar que tengan todo lo que necesitan, me aterra profundamente. Al mismo tiempo, permanecer aquí mientras nuestra familia atraviesa esta situación de incertidumbre también resulta muy difícil. Por eso, les pido humildemente su apoyo. Cualquier contribución, por pequeña que sea, nos ayudaría a comenzar de nuevo en México y a cubrir las necesidades de nuestros hijos durante esta difícil transición. Los fondos se destinarán a transporte, alimentación, atención médica, medicamentos y otros gastos básicos mientras trabajamos para reconstruir nuestras vidas.
