Help LUNA Raise Money For a Community Space

Donation protected
We are LUNA, Latinas Unidas en Las Artes, a Milwaukee based Latinx art collective that not only empowers/supports each other but also shares resources/opportunities.

LUNA has been accepted into the Pop Up MKE* program and will have a space October-November on Cesar Chavez Drive! Pop Up MKE "assists in reducing some of the barriers entrepreneurs face in establishing their businesses." Over the last 14 months, we have created gallery exhibitions to highlight artists of the group in galleries all over the city. People have continually asked if we have our space and we kept saying, one day we hope so. And with Pop Up MKE, one day became a reality much sooner than we thought!

We are ecstatic, but this means we need to raise funds in order to make our vision happen! For our space, we will use it a shared studio space for LUNA artists, we will host workshops and we will have an ongoing gallery. We will also have a store to sell art, handmade items and apparel. This space will give us the power to further work with our communities and to continue to unite Latinx artists and art appreciators within Milwaukee and beyond.

So what will your dollar go to? Helping us acquire furniture, art supplies for workshops, materials for hanging the gallery,  a POS system, a seller's license and business insurance and various other essential items that comes with running a public space for our new and exciting adventure. If you are able, we kindly ask for your help to assist us in reaching our goals. We are beyond grateful for the support we have received as a collective thus far, and we can’t wait to show you what awaits us in this next chapter.

*Pop Up MKE is administered by the City of Milwaukee Commercial Corridor team and Local Initiatives Support Corp., it is also supported by Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corp., MKE United, and the Historic King Drive, Cesar Chavez Drive and North Avenue Marketplace Business Improvement Districts. It is part of LISC’s collaborative economic development effort, Brew City Match, and funded with a grant from JPMorgan Chase & Co.
