I'd like to introduce you to my friend Juliette, a single mother in Uganda who is about to lose everything she's fought for. Juliette is an amazingly strong woman who works tirelessly at the Imvepi refugee camp, where the conditions are incredibly harsh. With a salary that barely covers her basic needs, she still finds time and energy to study a degree in Project Management. On top of all that, every weekend she has to travel to a nearby town to spend time with her son, who stays with a relative during the week.

Despite all these challenges, Juliette has never given up on her studies. To pay for her final year of university, she sold a shipping container she had bought with the dream of opening her own small natural juice business in the future. Relying on that money, she took out a bank loan. But the buyer never paid her, and now she's stuck with the debt and no resources to cover it.

Now, a debt of 900,000 UGX (about €220 / $240) threatens to derail everything. If she can't pay it off, she'll lose her chance to finish her degree and secure a better future for her son and herself.

Te presento a mi amiga Juliette, una madre soltera en Uganda que está a punto de perder todo por lo que ha luchado. Juliette trabaja sin parar en el campo de refugiados de Imvepi, donde las condiciones son muy duras. Con un sueldo que apenas le da para vivir, todavía encuentra energía y tiempo para estudiar una carrera en Gestión de Proyectos. Además de todo eso, cada fin de semana viaja al pueblo colindante para poder pasar tiempo con su hijo, que se queda con un familiar durante la semana.

A pesar de todas las dificultades, Juliette nunca ha renunciado a sus estudios. Para pagar su último año de universidad, vendió un contenedor que había comprado con la idea de abrir algún día su pequeño negocio de zumos naturales. Contando con ese dinero, pidió un préstamo al banco. Pero el comprador nunca le pagó, y ahora ella se ha quedado con la deuda y sin recursos para cubrirla.

Ahora, con una deuda de 900.000 UGX (unos 220 € / 240 $), se enfrenta a una situación desesperada. Si no la salda, no podrá terminar su carrera ni ofrecer un futuro estable a su hijo.
