Help Us Restore Our Family-Run Hotel in Playa El Cocal

Hello, my name is Ludwig Alvarado, but many know me as Lulo. I am the founder and chef of a small family-run hotel and restaurant called Lulo, located on the beautiful Playa El Cocal in El Salvador.

Over the past two months, we have faced severe damage due to extreme weather changes in the area: high tides have destroyed part of the back area of our restaurant, intense and unexpected rains have caused flooding, strong winds have damaged our roof, and our common areas such as the restaurant and pool have also been affected.

Our team is made up of local people from coastal communities in El Salvador. We provide direct employment to 7 families, who rely heavily on this place to support their households. Every day, we work with passion, motivation, and love for what we do. But these recent events have forced us to close temporarily on multiple occasions, which has greatly impacted our ability to generate income.

The costs of repairs and maintenance are high, and although we’re doing our best to stay afloat, we now need your help to move forward.

This hotel is not just a business; it’s a dream born from a love of cooking, hospitality, and the desire to share the best of El Salvador with the world. Your support will help us rebuild the damaged areas, reopen our doors, and continue to be a source of employment and hope for our community.
