Somos Sarah y Alexia, agradecemos que pueda tomarse un momento para leer esta historia, se trata de nuestra hermana Bessy Laura Bonilla, ella es una joven madre de dos niños Héctor y Cristina, vive en Honduras y recientemente debido a fuertes dolores de cabeza y una repentina perdida parcial de visión fue examinada por varios especialistas, hace una semana por medio de una resonancia magnética fue diagnósticada con un tumor en la silla turca que mide aproximadamente 2.2cm-2.4cm de altura, el cual está comprimiendo los nervios ópticos lo que ha provocado la perdida de la visión. "La silla turca" es una parte del cráneo que se encuentra en la base del cerebro, el desarrollo del tumor puede afectar estructuras cercanas, como el hipotálamo, la glándula pituitaria y los nervios ópticos.

Afortunadamente el tumor es operable y los médicos aconsejan que la cirugía se haga a la mayor brevedad para evitar que el tumor siga creciendo lo cual puede ocasionar problemas de salud mayores y daño irreversible en los nervios ópticos. Estamos levantando fondos para ayudarle con los gastos relacionados con la cirugía la cual tiene un precio de $17,000 sin incluir gastos post operatorios. Hello! "The sella turcica" is a part of the skull that is located at the base of the brain, the development of the tumor can affect nearby structures, such as the hypothalamus, the pituitary gland and the optic nerves.

Fortunately, the tumor is operable and doctors advise that the surgery be done as soon as possible to prevent the tumor from continuing to grow, which can cause major health problems and irreversible damage to the optic nerves. We are raising funds to help with the expenses related to the surgery, which costs $17,000, not including post-operative expenses. If you would like to support us, we would deeply appreciate it.
