Have a Heart Campaign to Help Fight Homelessness

Hi my name is Andrea Simms. I am an Ajax resident who is asking for your kind and generous support in assisting me with raising $50,000 for my "Have a Heart" Campaign.

This campaign will help to support individuals in the Ajax and surrounding Durham region communities that have been impacted by homelessness, mental health and substance abuse issues.

As the harsh reality of homelessness continues to plague our communities, leaving countless individuals without a safe and stable place to call home.

The lack of affordable housing, coupled with factors like job loss, mental health challenges, and substance abuse, pushes vulnerable populations onto the streets, where they face extreme weather, hunger, and a constant struggle for basic necessities.

These pervasive issues demand our attention and action, which is why I am launching this "critical" fundraiser to provide vital support and resources to those experiencing homelessness in our communities.

The aim is to raise more awareness to these issues while directly addressing the urgent needs of our homeless population.

These funds will be utilized to assist various organizations such as the Christian Faith Outreach Centre, the Carion Fenn Foundation, the Life Community project of Durham region as well as other outreach/support programs within the community.

These organizations not only offer essential services such as temporary shelters, hot meals, clothing, and hygiene products for those in need.

But they will also offer valuable resources that will assist with offering crucial support services like employment support, housing assistance, mental health counselling, and addiction treatment services, and valuable yet crucial life skills to empower individuals to break the cycle of homelessness so they can re-enter into society and rebuild their lives.

In addition, I will also continue to work with these organizations in an effort to get as much additional resources as well, as the need for these services are continuing to rise.

Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a significant difference in the lives of those struggling with homelessness.
