Help us survive and start over in Gaza

Hello,
I'm Aya Saad, from Gaza City, Palestine. I graduated from the Faculty of Nursing at Al-Azhar University, and during the war, I volunteered to help the wounded and sick in displacement camps, even though my family and I were displaced. I dream of becoming a poet and novelist, if only this brutal war would give me one more chance to survive.

We are a family of eight: Mohammed Saad, Maysara Saad, Moaz Saad, and Malek Saad are my brothers, and I, Aya Saad, my sister, Ola Saad, and my mother, Mona Saad, have lived a simple but hopeful life. Each member of my family had their own dreams, hopes, and ambitions, and now they have all been shattered and shattered by the catastrophic consequences of the war, which has been ongoing for nearly 600 days.

My mother, Mona, is a strong and beautiful woman. She worked as a seamstress with my father, providing us with education and building our home.

My brother Mohammed, an information technology graduate, worked in a printing press to earn a living, dreaming of a decent life for himself and his pregnant wife. My brothers Moaz and Maysara are university students studying accounting and education. Maysara was injured twice during the war and now needs urgent medical care, which we cannot provide.

My brother Malek, a schoolboy, dreams of becoming a soccer player.

My sister Ola, a talented artist and engineering student, dreamed of expressing the beauty of life and our cause through her art.

Our Story:

The war came and turned everything to ashes.

In the third week of the war, our four-story home was completely destroyed. It was once our refuge, our warm and loving haven. Now, nothing remains but rubble.

Since that day, we have been displaced more than ten times—escaping bombing and death, from the north of Gaza to the south.

Each time, we lived together in a single small tent that protected us neither from the summer heat nor the winter cold.

To this day, we still live in that tent—without a roof to protect our dignity, and without shelter to meet even the most basic necessities. The loss of our father:

The war not only took our home; it also took our father. He worked in construction and was the sole breadwinner for our family.

His loss left a deep sadness in our hearts, leaving my mother and siblings without a source of income. Since then, we have been surviving solely on food aid.

My brother's injury:

My brother Maysara was injured twice during the war. The first time was in his leg, and the second time was in his left hand.

This is a serious injury that requires ongoing treatment, medical care, and special nutrition—all of which we are completely unable to provide under these circumstances.

Why we are asking for help:

We are now eight people without shelter or work, living in inhumane conditions.

The war is not over yet, and everything in Gaza has become unbearably expensive.

We cannot afford the rent, nor can we leave Gaza—the Rafah crossing is almost always closed due to the war, and the cost of travel outside Gaza is prohibitively high.

Your donation will help us:

• Provide basic needs such as food, clean water, and flour.

• Treat my injured brother and ensure his continued medical care.

• Rebuild part of our destroyed home.

• Create job opportunities for my siblings so we can support ourselves.

• Overcome this ordeal and start a new life with dignity.

All we ask for is a chance at life—to live in safety and rebuild what remains of our shattered dreams.

We have attached photos showing the destruction of our home, my brother's injury, and the tent we lived in for months.

We have great hope in you.

Your donation—even if it's small—can make a real difference in our lives.

Share our story and support us during this dire humanitarian crisis.

May God reward you and bless you.
