Derek's Story

Our brother Derek is the true definition of a hardworking and devoted family man. For his entire adult life, he has poured his energy into providing for his loved ones and making sure his family always came first. Alongside his wife, Kelly, he has raised two incredible young men who reflect the love, dedication, and values that Derek has instilled in them.

But Derek and Kelly's hearts didn't stop there.

They opened their home through fostering and, in time, adoption, welcoming three beautiful little girls into their family. Together, they have built a home filled with love, laughter, and the kind of selflessness that inspires everyone who knows them.

Recently, Derek received the heartbreaking news of a terminal cancer diagnosis. This news has brought unimaginable emotional pain, but also the heavy burden of financial uncertainty. As Derek and Kelly focus on cherishing the time they have together, worries about what the future will look like for Kelly and the children weigh heavily on their hearts.

Derek is a very private man who has never been one to ask for help, and it is difficult for him and Kelly to be in this position.

But with so much on their shoulders, they are allowing us to share their story in the hope that the community they have given so much to might now walk alongside them.
