The Sanctuary Field Neighborhood Network, Inc. (SFNN) is a non-profit organization concerned about extensive negative impact from the "Sanctuary on the Green" development planned at the corner of North Taft Hill Road and Laporte Avenue in Fort Collins, CO.

Formed in 2018 from a grassroots group of over 150 individuals and formalized in 2022, SFNN has been actively pushing back against the development, which does not conform to the Northwest Subarea Plan that the City and County jointly adopted for the region in 2006. Unfortunately, this development proposal (212 dwelling units, including 3 story row-homes), was approved by a Type 1 Hearing Officer in May 2022, and Fort Collins City Council denied SFNN's appeal 5:2 in August 2022.

Sanctuary Field Neighborhood Network raised an initial $10,000 in <24 hours to formally file a 106A legal complaint against the City of Fort Collins and the developer in District Court. WE WON THE CASE! In July of 2023, the district court judge remanded the case back to another hearing, where the Hearing Officer is tasked to consider and evaluate the plan in relation to not only the city's Land Use Code, but also the Northwest Subarea Plan. This hearing was initially scheduled in the fall of 2023, but was cancelled three times at short notice (twice by the developer and once by the city). The city repeatedly confirmed that the development proposal would expire April 16, 2024 unless there was an extension filed or active work on the proposal. Neither occurred, however, on April 17, the city and developer changed the lapse date to May 27. On April 22 the developer filed a formal extension. On May 13, 2024 the city rescheduled the Type 1 Hearing for July 15, 2024.
