Chris’s Road to Recovery

My brother, Chris Ritter, was in a motor vehicle accident this past week. A 16 wheeler collided his truck while he was traveling to work in the early morning hours. My brother sustained extensive injuries to both of his legs. On his right leg he suffered an open compound fracture to his tibia and a fractured fibula with ligament damage. On his left leg, he suffered a mid shaft fracture to his femur and a tibial plateau fracture (which is a fracture into the knee joint itself). The extent to the ligament damage is still unknown due to the inability to receive an MRI because of the severe swelling to the leg itself. After undergoing a brutal 7 hour surgery to repair both legs, Chris still has a long road to recovery. He has no medical insurance and is the sole provider for his fiancé and his twin baby girls, who are just shy of 1 years old. Without the necessary funds, my brother will be unable to get the proper care he desperately needs. The last week has been incredibly difficult for our family and this journey has only begun.
