Kyle Messinetti passed away at the age of 26 on October 16, 2018, poisoned by fentanyl. The heartbreak this has brought to our family and friends is indescribable. We would like to help save other families from the devastation of this unfortunately, all too common outcome!
We started the Kyle T. Messinetti Foundation with the mission to help educate the public on mental health, substance abuse disorder, the associated stigma and the dangers of fentanyl.
Our first project is “AWARENESS PARK” inside Bingham Park in Hawley, PA - the park that Kyle often frequented and loved to skate. This will not only be a skate park, but a focal point in the community for hosting events focused on raising awareness for the cause. We are in talks with a world leading skate park design/build firms. The park would have state-of-the-art safety features and equipment, welcoming all who would enjoy it.
We have received approval for the project from the Hawley Borough and Park & Recreation Councils as well as letters of support from:
- PA Senator Lisa Baker – 20th district
- PA House Rep Jeff Olsommer – 139th district
- PA Congressman Rob Bresnahan
- Wayne County Commissioners
- Pike County Commissioners
- Superintendent of Wallenpaupack School District
- Carbon Pike Monroe Drug & Alcohol
The state grant we are applying for (DCNR) will provide 85% of the funding of the project. Your generous donation will help cover the required funds match as well as any change orders (unforeseen costs).
Kyle's dream was to save the world. Through your support, we can bring AWARENESS and begin saving some lives.
Love,
The Messinetti Family
