My grandaughter Aveena was born in September of 2023 4 weeks early. She was the last sibling out of seven kids. She has had a rough journey in her short 7 months so far. She has a working diagnosis of Quadriplegic Spastic Cerebral Palsy. She has been diagnosed with Microcephaly and has extra spinal fluid in the front part of her brain. The spasticity in her muscles makes it hard for her to eat so she has been on a NG tube since February when she had two separate hospital stays for failure to thrive. She is going in for Gtube surgery tomorrow and will have another overnight hospital stay and several follow ups. Her parents are working overtime taking care of her and all her siblings. Her father is a corrections officer but has had to take 1-3 days a week off to get Aveena to her numerous appointments. She has physical and feeding therapy weekly as well as continuous appointments with her pediatrician for weight checks and neurology and GI. A special needs baby is never in anyone plans and it certainly has been a challenging road for her and her family. Im asking for any donation to help them with gas to and from her appointments (most are over an hour away), to help make up for dads time off of work because he has used all his sick and vacation time and they are a family of 9 on a single income and to make this time a little bit easier for them.
