Hi, my name is Rosie, and I'm raising money for my friend Yolanda and her family.

They’ve been struggling financially lately due to Yolanda’s husband’s health problems. Fidel was diagnosed with kidney cancer in 2019 and had his left kidney removed, and started dialysis in 2020. He still managed to work full-time. Yolanda was on dialysis at that time, but thankfully in 2020 she got a transplant. Fidel had his right kidney removed in 2021 due to cancer. In February of this year he had a stroke and hasn’t been able to work for most of this year. He wants to work, but physically he just can’t. He’s been on chemotherapy since 2021, which has also caused him to have C-Diff (infection). He has diabetes, and they found out this year he has heart failure and possibly an enlarged heart. We also found out recently that the cancer on his left side has grown, and he is currently at stage 4 renal cancer. Yolanda spends her days taking care of him, keeping track of his medications, driving him to and from dialysis three times a week and the frequent doctors’ appointments he has each week (some are out of town). She also has to take care of her son and grandson to and from school daily. Their youngest child is 12. She still works part-time from home but simply doesn’t earn enough to keep up with the medical and household expenses. As you can imagine, both Yolanda and Fidel’s medical costs are high. Insurance doesn’t cover everything.

I met Yolanda years ago in my Zumba class at the gym. She is sweet, giving and hardworking; she would not have asked for help herself. Please help her out if you can. Thank you.
