Austin Gestational Carrier & Surrogate
Donation protected
Hi, Jon and Kyle Austin here. After our marriage in 2017 we knew we wanted to start a family. A friend was kind enough to donate her eggs and we started the process with 6 female and 5 male embryos. In 2018, another amazing friend here in Omaha volunteered to be our gestational carrier. The first attempt was not a success and the 2nd attempt, while starting out great, ended as well. This was a hard time for my husband and myself. We still have 6 female and 3 male embryos remaining in cryo.
As you know the pandemic began in 2019, right after we had our 2 miscarriages and needed to find a new gestational carrier (in Nebraska you need to be a friend and they do it for free... a hard chore for sure). Covid shut down all surrogacy programs if you hadn't already began the process. So we had to play the waiting game.
Years passed and now we can start the process again, but Nebraska is too challenging of a state for gay couples to do surrogacy. We are now working with the Iowa University hospitals and clinics as well as Heartland Surrogacy.
We have most of the funds required, but gestational carriers in states outside of Nebraska must be compensated for the amazing gift they are providing the families the help. We are asking for your help to raise enough money for the gestational carrier compensation. Anything can help, even sharing our page and story to others. We thank you with all our hearts for helping to grow our family, we can't wait to be dads together!
We will create a blog of some type for donars to follow along in the process so you can know how your donations are being spent. Thank you again so much!
