This fundraiser is being organized by Cruisin’ 4 Paws. We are a local tracking/trapping volunteer group. All donations will go directly to Aurora Rodriguez.

On Saturday, March 18th at approximately 4 PM, a truck driver named Aurora Rodriguez was coming Southbound on I-5 to meet up with her brother at Joe’s Travel Plaza in Westley, CA. When she pulled off the hwy at the Howard Rd exit, she noticed smoke coming from the engine of her big rig. She pulled in quickly to the plaza and parked the truck as now smoke was coming into the cab. She jumped out and called her 2-year-old companion dog, Pepper, to follow her but Pepper was overcome with fear and froze. Aurora jumped back up in the cab of the truck which now had flames & was filled with smoke. Aurora felt in the darkened cab for Pepper. She was able to grab her by the collar and pull her out to safety. Aurora asked a bystander to watch her dog while she was dealing with the fire. When she came back to the bystander, he said Pepper had gone over by some individuals that were trying to catch her and then Pepper ran off. The big rig burned completely and Pepper is lost. We are reaching out on social media and to

the news media to see if her story can get out there.

Please consider donating to this go fund me. All funds will go directly to Aurora. Aurora's truck was not only her home but also her income. She lost everything materially that she had.

We don’t want her to lose her precious pup, Pepper, too. We are searching the area, checking local shelters and hoping that if someone has Pepper they will see this story and return her. We have also put up fliers, called local businesses and are seeking help through the community to try to get Pepper home safely.
