My name is Yasmin, and I am 17 years old.

Before the war, we lived a simple and happy life filled with warmth and safety. My father, my siblings, and I shared many dreams, and one of our biggest dreams came true when we bought a new home. That house represented years of hard work, patience, and hope. It was meant to be the place where our future would grow.

But the war changed everything.

In a single moment, our lives were turned upside down. My father was seriously injured during the bombing and is no longer able to work. Our new home, which we waited for so long to live in, was destroyed by shelling. We didn’t just lose walls and furniture—we lost our sense of safety and stability.

At an age when I should be focusing on my education and my dreams, I now live with constant fear and worry for my father’s health and my family’s future. My younger siblings keep asking when we will go back to our home, and I have no answer for them.

Today, we are living in extremely difficult humanitarian conditions. We struggle to provide medical treatment for my father and to secure our basic needs such as food and shelter after losing our only source of security.
