Attend the 2023 World Scout Jamboree in August

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Sam and I am an Explorer Scout with Easingwold District Explorers. I am raising funds to attend the World Scout Jamboree in South Korea this summer. Last February I was chosen to be part of Unit 41, a new scout group selected from the whole of North Yorkshire, that was formed to attend the Jamboree. However, to go I need to raise 3.5k. I am nearly halfway there and have raised 1.5k by doing jobs around the village (babysitting, car washing, cat feeding you name it!), I have also been selling sweets at school, picking up litter, stewarding at a triathlon, writing to local charities and working in the local shop. I have been a scout for over 8 years having joined when I was 6, it is a huge part of my life and a fantastic group to be with. They have helped me gain confidence, learn new life skills and make friends outside of school. I am so excited to go to South Korea with them, I can't wait to experience a new culture and meet scouts from around the world.

To raise the rest of the money I am planning on hiking the Lyke Wake Walk on Saturday 24th June. This is a 42-mile walk across the North York Moors from Osmotherly to Ravenscar. I hope to achieve this in less than 18 hours and so will be setting off at 4 am to hopefully finish by 10 pm! It is going to be really tough as it is over difficult terrain and very hilly (5000ft of ascent) but I have been training hard and will have support from family and friends along the way. If you are interested in learning more about this walk please check out the website: http://lykewakewalk.co.uk/.

If you would like to sponsor me that would be amazing. Thank you. All funds will be passed onto North Yorkshire Scouts to pay for me to attend and any that is left over will be donated to Unit 41.
