Atheists Helping Homeless Charlotte storage 2023

This has been a particularly hard year, and with colder weather approaching, our houseless neighbors are counting on us to be there for them. If you haven’t been able to attend events to volunteer in person this year, don’t worry! YOU can still be a hero by donating to our 2023 storage unit fundraiser. This storage unit makes receiving, organizing, and preparing donations possible so that we can serve our community consistently. Every little bit helps, and with your support we can continue making Charlotte a kinder community, one helping hand at a time.

For years, Charlotte Atheists and Agnostics (CAA) has been working with Charity Beyond Belief / Atheists Helping the Homeless (CBB/AHH) in their pursuit to provide resources to individuals with insecure housing around Mecklenburg County. Resources mainly consist of Toiletries, Food, and Clothing. These items are handed out once a month, and go a long way in providing assistance to this community.

In years past, donations had simply been stored in volunteers' homes. In 2020, CAA raised money to fund a storage unit for AHH's donated goods for one year. The storage unit has been of great use to AHH. We now have all our goods in one place. They're accessible to multiple volunteers at any time, easier to inventory, and stretching every dollar further by allowing for more bulk purchases. Given how helpful the storage unit was for AHH, CAA did another fundraiser in 2021 to pay for another year.

So let's keep it going for a third year! Will you join me in helping AHH continue to serve the community more effectively? If we happen to raise more than we need to pay for the storage unit, additional funds will go towards toiletries, clothing, and food for our housing-insecure neighbors.
