After entering the United States to seek safety, Daniel Paz and his daughter were separated under the Trump's infamous Family Separation policy.They both suffered a great deal of abuse while in government custody. Daniel and his family were reunited in 2018 and have since won asylum. Daniel is a committed advocate for other families who have faced similar trauma, speaking out against Family Separation and in support of a more just and humane immigration system .

 

Since winning asylum, Daniel and his family were excited to start a new chapter of their lives in a new home in Texas. Unfortunately, the family suffered numerous setbacks while there and Daniel was twice hospitalized. They have determined that moving back home to Ohio is best for their well-being.
