I never imagined my family would be facing something like this. On November 5th, my mom, brothers, and I went with my dad to his routine ICE check-in, as we had done every year. Everything happened so fast.. he was suddenly detained, and we were only allowed to see him for 10 minutes through thick glass. We left in tears, scared and completely unprepared for what came next.
By January 2026, my dad was deported to Laos with only the clothes he was wearing that day.
My dad is a kind, hardworking man who has always supported our family and treated others with respect. He pays taxes every year and has always tried to do everything right. His absence has deeply affected our family, emotionally and financially, and our lives were turned upside down overnight.
We are currently working with lawyers to explore our options and cover legal fees, travel-related costs, and basic necessities. The expenses have added up quickly, and asking for help is not easy. Any support—whether through a donation, sharing this page, or keeping us in your thoughts—means more to us than we can express.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any kindness you’re able to share.
With love and gratitude,
Shari
