It’s been said “to truly understand someone else you have to put yourself in their shoes. For a lot of children and adults in Nigeria, that could mean walking barefoot! I was taught that a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, and although I’m not the type to interrupt someone’s journey attempting to walk in their shoes, I am the type to offer them shoes if theirs are worn and encourage them to keep walking!
Hello, my name is Asuzu, also known as ‘Asuzu The Zulu’, a HipHop artist under @1stWorldEnt, and I’m from Nigeria. I moved to the United States when I was 10 years old (1996). I went back to Nigeria in 2000 and did my first year of high school there (JSS1). Finally 21 years later I made it back to my country of origin, and although it was exciting it was also heartbreaking. I personally witnessed so many people, both young and old without clothing and shoes. Those who know me know i’m straight to the point, so I’ve decided to do something about it and i could really use your help! My focus as mentioned earlier is on shoes.
If you are in a position to help PLEASE donate gently worn shoes to help with our efforts to improve lives in my beloved country! If you don’t have shoes to donate and still want to help, you can help by donating money because there will be some expenses incurred with shipping and travel. No amount is too small, EVERYTHING HELPS!!! My country folk are suffering and we need your help. EVERY dollar and shoe donated counts.
