My name is James Feuerstein. I am a Life Scout from Troop 277 inMount Dora, FL, as well as a Cadet Technical Sgt. in the Mount Dora High School Air Force Junior ROTC program. I am working towards earning my Eagle Scout rank. For my project, I have chosen to create a memorial to Astronaut (retd.) David Walker, Lake County’s only astronaut, a distinguished Naval Aviator, and a local Eagle Scout. The memorial will consist of a bronze plaque on a granite stone surrounded by classy landscaping. The marker would consist of a brief explanation as to who David Walker was. The memorial will be placed at the Eustis Historical Museum. I believe this project will greatly help in spreading knowledge of David Walker and his legacy.
