Assyrians for Black Lives Matter

We are a group of Assyrians who believe Black Lives Matter. We stand with the Black community in condemning police violence against Black folks. We remember George Floyd, Tony McDade, Breona Taylor, and countless others who have been murdered by police officers and demand accountability.

Assyrians are the indigenous people of the Middle East. As a community that has faced centuries of oppression in our homeland, we understand the importance of standing in solidarity with other communities in their time of need. Police violence and systemic racism against the Black community is a human rights issue that surpasses ethnic and religious affiliations. This is why we stand with Black Lives Matter today and in the future.
