Hi everyone, as you know Hurricane Melissa recently passed through jamaica at a category 5 scale leaving the western end of the island devastated. I grew up on the west end and have seen how this disaster has impacted so many of my family and friends within the area especially those in rural communities. Basic needs of food and Water are imminent to survival as We slowly rebuild after this devastation. Whilst the urban communities have gotten a lot of support many people within rural communities like Maroon town, Mafoota and other neighbouring communities need help. Our Motto in jamaica is Out of many, One people. I truly believe that my international village has the ability to assist me with making a difference there. Whether its a share or a contribution, I’d appreciate your support in helping getting these people what they need. No 1 person, organization or charity can do this alone. But together as a collective we can always inch closer to normalcy aid in recovery. I have friends that have lost their entire houses vehicles and family impacted by damage.

In these rural communities you will find the elderly, kind hearted people who live off of the land or farm to take care of their families. Unfortunately thats all gone now.

My Plan based on funds raised within a 4-6 week period is to-
purchases basic personal care items such as
-Toothpaste
-Toothbrushes
-Deodorants
-Soaps
in bulk and ship to jamaica as the per unit cost is often cheaper abroad and the government has agreed to waive duties on these items

on the island mobilize my available family and friends to venture out of parish to purchase

Much needed items such as
-Water
-Canned Goods
-Emergency Toiletries
-Gas
-Medical Care items (Gauze, alcohol and wound care items)
-Bleach
-Drums if possible for water catchment (Most areas are still without electricity, water, cell service and internet)
-Flashlights

Ideally , Id love to be able to do building supplies as well but let’s see where this thing takes us.

I promise full transparency and updates as we work towards our goal
