Assistance for Ethan and family

Hello friends,
Back in July, 2018 Ethan began having seizures with no known causes and/or symptoms to have such an illness. This then started numerous tests, specialists, and hospital visits to determine what was going on. After confirmation from an MRI and two CT scans, a tumour was diagnosed and located in the back/base of his brain; However, this is described as an "incidental finding", as the tumour is not the cause of his numerous seizures to date. Ethan has been followed by the wonderful Neurosurgeon and ENT Surgeons at SickKids Hospital, and will be having a very difficult biopsy of the tumour in the brain on April 11, 2019. A Neurologist is also involved in Ethan's treatment, as the seizures are a cause for concern due to the frequency and the different types etc. Further blood work has been completed (which unfortunately not covered by OHIP), and possible Spinal Fluid sample will take place at a later date, to diagnose the reason for seizures. As the biopsy surgery is fast approaching, and Ethan's symptoms seem to be sporadic on a day-to-day basis, it has been very difficult to sustain full-time employment. Being a full-time single mother to (Ethan, and 3 year old Hunter) is a difficult job in itself, then having all of these medical issues makes life much more difficult for us. Having the outstanding support from my very close friends has been instrumental to us, but unfortunately the monetary concerns to sustain adequate living has posed a significant stress to me. Ethan is scheduled to have surgery as mentioned in April, and will be off school for approximately 2 weeks following the biopsy if things go as planned. We are reaching out for ANY assistance you may be able to provide to our family of 3 throughout this very, very difficult time in our lives.
