Assist Samantha's Family After Fire Loss

Donation protected
My name is Heather Noonan, and I’m a local pediatric occupational therapy assistant in Grand Junction, CO. For two years, I was lucky enough to live next door to Samantha and her two wonderful kids on Colorado Ave.

Samantha is one of the hardest-working single moms I’ve ever met. She is a devoted mother and a dedicated CNA, tirelessly caring for others in our community.

I vividly recall a rainstorm after which Samantha and her kids were outside, laughing and jumping in puddles on the street and sidewalks. This was a beautiful example of how she embraces life's joy and shares it with her children, even during challenging times.

Samantha and her family hold a special place in my heart. When we were neighbors, we looked out for each other like family. Samantha’s kindness and unwavering love for her children inspired me, and her presence made me feel safe because I always knew she was looking out for me, just as I was for her.

A Tragic House Fire

In the early hours of December 12th, around 4:44 AM, the Grand Junction Fire Department responded to a devastating fire at the triplex where Samantha lived. The fire started on the back porch of another unit and quickly spread, leaving Samantha’s apartment and all her family’s belongings destroyed. This heartbreaking incident was entirely beyond her control.

While Samantha and her children made it out safely, their home was completely lost. Thankfully, her two beloved kitties also made it out alive, bringing a small piece of comfort amidst the devastation.

This tragedy struck at the worst possible time. Samantha’s daughter celebrated her 16th birthday on December 10th, and her son’s birthday is on December 20th. The fire destroyed all their birthday presents and everything else they owned. Samantha now faces the overwhelming task of starting over in the middle of winter and just weeks before Christmas.

Despite this unimaginable loss, Samantha and her children are showing incredible courage. This afternoon, she said, “My heart is so full. The kids are being so brave.”

However, the challenges ahead are immense. She is desperately searching for new housing, which is no easy task in Grand Junction, and is doing everything she can to get back on her feet.

How You Can Help

Samantha’s family needs our support now more than ever. Your contributions will help cover:

• Immediate necessities like clothing, food, and toiletries
• Temporary housing expenses
• Replacement of essential items for her children
• Support to rebuild her life after this tragedy

Every little bit counts, whether you make a financial contribution, share this campaign, or send positive thoughts and prayers her way. Samantha is deeply grateful for your kindness, and we thank you in advance.

Let’s unite and support Samantha and her children in rebuilding and restoring hope during this challenging time. Thank you for your kindness and compassion.

We are a wonderful community; I know we can make a difference.
