Assist My Mother, Michelle, In Her Time of Need.

Hello! My name is Eric Ways and my brother, Aubrey Ways and I are posting this GoFundMe on behalf of our mother. She had to move home to Indiana from North Carolina a few months ago to help take care of my grandmother whose Alzheimers is progressing.

First, let me share that she is an only child with very limited help and has exhausted all resources from able family members. From May 2023 through November 2023, she traveled back and forth from North Carolina to Indiana to enable and support my grandmother who was diagnosed with advancing Alzheimer’s disease.

 

She has had to make medical care and memory caregiving arrangements, as well as, address legal concerns which has completely exhausted her savings; rendering her, more or less, with problems fulfilling her monthly living expenses. In November 2023, she placed all her furniture, clothing, and incidentals in storage with PODS Storage and Public Storage in Raleigh (costing her $405 monthly rental cost) and moved to Indianapolis due to the exhaustion of traveling back and forth to care for my sick grandmother.

We are asking for your financial support of any amount as we are trying to raise the amount of $3,000, to assist with the cost for moving her PODS Storage and Public storage from Raleigh, NC to Indianapolis, IN, and any outstanding medical bills or needs for our ailing grandmother.

This past year has been extremely arduous and stressful having to care for her mother from the basement of the home where my grandmother lives, with only the things my mother could fit in her car. Since January, my grandmother has been in and out of the hospital with Pneumonia, Atrial fibrillation, Chronic UTI and a Heart Attack.

It took her months to get my grandmother approved for Medicaid to be able to pay for a long term care at an Alzheimer facility. Additionally, she and my grandmother’s 83 year old partner had to provide around the clock care for months which affected her mentally, physically and impacted her employment responsibilities as she works 8am-5pm from home.
