Assist My Mom: Life Without Dad's Support.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read this. My dad, Bob Todys, recently passed away after a 15 month battle with Stage 4 cancer. He was a major provider to my family, working as a manager for Buffalo Wild Wings in the Columbus, OH area. He was in the restaurant business for 45 years, as he worked at and eventually ran his family owned restaurant in Cleveland, OH in the beginning. Life brought him to Columbus, OH where he worked for Bdubs for 15 years, and was the gold standard for what Bdubs strives to find in employees.

Unfortunately, Bdubs and the corporate system failed him and wouldn't provide him and his family with the life insurance policy that they "provide" due to him eventually having to opt in for Long Term Disability while fighting his cancer. His income was extremely crucial for him and my mom to continue living their dreams out since the day they said "I do". My mom also doesn't meet the age requirements of survivors benefits, ultimately she's left in the dust by my dad's work benefits and the greater system to worry about his contribution that she no longer has. I am starting this GoFundMe to try and help my Mom as much as I possibly can as she starts to navigate life now without him, without the help of his workplace and the system. I'm 27 years old and trying to fend for myself and I can only help so much, but I knew this was something I could try. If any of you reading this know us, you know we are not the people that ask of much, if anything. We learned that from my dad, because he showed up to work, and did what needed to be done. But, in this instance I'm not asking for me, I'm asking for my Mom because I know she won't, no matter what challenge lies ahead. I'm not even sure what the goal is because there is a lot of unknowns of what bills she has to face from his battle, but also what expenses she must continue to cover without him. I write all of this to say: if you are able to, please consider helping my mom as she shifts from my dads fight, to her fight. Thank you!
