On Aug. 9, 2025, my mom Lenna Krueger passed away peacefully at her home in Alger, Michigan after a short swift battle with small cell lung cancer that metastasized throughout her body.

Mom leaves behind my stepdad Mike who has remained by her side through this journey, and her 13 yr old chihuahua Bella Boo.

Due to her sudden illness and untimely death, there was no time to plan. My stepfather has found himself suddenly with no income, as the two of them were living off of her Social Security retirement and a small pension.

Mike battles Addison's Disease and has his own health challenges, as well as mounting medical bills and prescription costs for himself.

I have reviewed their monthly expenses and upcoming bills. I have also been going though all sources of income, available savings, and recent deposits that have helped cover Mom's cremation, fuel and travel costs.

After all is settled, I am not seeing how Mike will make ends meet.

I am going to help with what I can but I really want to make sure he can pay for his medical expenses and medications for the next few months until we can get alternative and/or supplemental assistance.

All of this has taken a tremendous toll on Mike, emotionally and physically. It's too much for one person to handle alone so we are reaching out to our community of friends and family for support.
