I'm hoping to share this story to seek support for a local Derby family that recently had their rental house burn down. On Tuesday 4th November a fire started at the property in which the family had lived for over 10 years. Thankfully the local Derby Fire brigade was able to contain the fire, and neighbouring homes were not badly impacted. The family did not have contents insurance, so inevitably they lost everything. As you can imagine much personal and sentimental belongings were lost along with all other household contents. The home was shared with 2 adults and a 4-year-old boy. The family walked out with the clothing they were wearing and nothing else.

Coming up to Christmas and having to start all over again with purchasing personal items, along with needing to buy expensive household items such as a washing machine and fridge is very stressful.
