Help Desire, Dedicated Teacher and Mom, in Her Time of Need
Donation protected
I'm Amanda, and I'm an Early Childhood Special Education teacher. I work with a team of dependable and passionate paraeducators who do so much for very little recognition or compensation. One of my paraeducators' names is Desire (pronounced Desiree). We have been teamed up for four school years, and she is one of those special people who show up each day because their heart and passion are in the work they do.
Desire has overcome many challenges personally throughout her life, but her recent struggles have weighed on my heart. She is a single mom to six children, works two jobs, and has been putting herself through school to try and better her situation for her family. Recently, she bought a new car for herself, and the first weekend she had it, it was stolen. Thankfully, it was returned to her a few days later by the police. However, a few weeks after that, she was in a car accident, and her car was totaled. She has been paying out of pocket for a rental and is struggling to save up money for a down payment on another car as she spent her savings on the previous car.
She is unable to buy Christmas presents for her children in order to save up what little money she can to have a new mode of transportation as soon as possible. Desire is a generous person who gives everything to her family and friends. In the spirit of giving, I would like to try and help this very deserving person. She never asks for anything for herself, and I think our community can come together for her, even in a small way. Any donation will be a godsend for her, along with prayers for peace and comfort for her and her family!
