My name is Dalton Young. I just got back from a deployment in the Middle East and found out my father has cancer. It's called squamous cell carcinoma. We aren't sure how much it has spread yet and will be getting tests done soon once he gets back home from work. He's a merchant marine, so he's out to sea and was unfortunately given the news before he left.

The reason I'm creating this GoFundMe is because financially we're in a very bad spot. My father has to leave work for 3 months or longer without paid leave. It pains me to say this, but his insurance with the company wasn't renewed, and the company is offering no support. My father has worked with them for almost his entire career outside of working in the Navy. His life insurance is also soon to expire and will cost $800 monthly to renew. My mother is a stay-at-home mom who owns a business where we make clothing, but it won't be enough to cover the expenses.

I hate asking for hand-outs, but I'm stuck in a corner in this situation. I can't imagine losing my father and having my entire family bear the burden of financial debt with this horrible situation.
