Assist Caitlin's Family After Accident

My name is Caitlin Kolasa. This is very difficult and it’s with a very heavy heart I am here posting this request for help. I am a single mother of five children and though I work two jobs we stand to lose everything. I’m in a crisis situation.

On December 9th, 2024, heading to get one of my sons from football practice. There was extremely dense fog and we couldn’t see a foot in front of us. Due to a bridge being out all traffic was detoured on to Knoxlyn Rd in Fairfield, PA. There was traffic behind us and we were all creeping. Ahead of me I saw taillights of another car so I slowed down even more. That’s when I realized this car was suddenly backing up at a high rate of speed down a large hill. To my right was a deep ravine so I told my children to place their heads against the back of their seats and car seats. I already had my four way emergency blinkers on due to the fog and the traffic behind me slowed as I had to stop my van and I pulled the emergency brake praying not to get thrown into the ravine beside me. The car continued backing up and rammed into the front of my van.

My children by the grace of God were frightened and none of them were injured. I suffered a concussion and some bruising, along with a neck and back injury. I could hardly believe the police when they told me the individual who hit me had no license and no inspection on her vehicle and a fictitious license plate.

I had full coverage and gap insurance. My van was totaled and because of my insurance coverage - paid off. I do thank God for this.

This brings me to the reason I am posting here asking for help. I am able to make the payments on another van but I have no funds for a down payment. For a good, safe and sound van I’m in need of $3,000.00 for a down payment. I've looked at a couple of good vans with low mileage.

I currently will have my rental van until January 11th, 2025 by the grace of my insurance company and then, that’s it.

There’s no vehicle available from family or friends for me to borrow.

If I cannot get to work my children and I will lose our home and everything. The amount needed for down payment is $3,000 and it’s hard to ask when times are tough for everybody but if you read this will you prayerfully consider a donation? Even if only $5 it would help my children and I. And if you read this and are unable to donate to help us out, will you please pray for us?
