Hello everyone,

My name is Jenny, and I have been placed in a terrible situation, along with my three children, six, three, and one. My husband moved out while my youngest was 4 months old. He went literally to the other side of the country, with a job in mind. The job was a great paying job and, unfortunately, he had to move. I asked him not to do that, but to wait for an opportunity closer. The plan, his plan, was to go across the country, wait till he has made enough money, then move the family. I was skeptical, and also did not want to be left alone with three children, one with a disability, Down syndrome, and, at the time, only 4 months old. He went anyway, saying everything will work out in the end, and everything will be okay.

We used to talk every day. I would call or text to see how he was, and update him on the children. In February, my youngest had to have a G tube placed because he wasn't gaining weight and had other health problems that prevented him from growing and sustaining nutrition. My husband came back for the surgery and left after 2 days. March comes around, and he has lost his job and was unable, according to him, to find another job. Communication has slowed down by this time. The last time he and I had an actual conversation was July, which lasted 10 minutes. The last time he asked about his children's welfare was July. He works for DoorDash, is in a band, and has maxed out my credit cards, even though he has told me not to use them, except for emergencies.

Money has diminished to a point where I need and continue to need help paying bills from family. Family has sent food to keep the children fed. I have talked to a lawyer and they said I would get even less money if I divorced him in this present state, and we, the children and I, would become squatters in our own house. Birthdays have been missed. Anniversary, missed. Congratulations, missed. Communication has come to a halt since August 1st. The best thing I can do for my children is to get out of where I am and move closer to family. The lawyer himself said he wouldn't hire anyone to file, but to move closer to family, which is in another state, then file from there.

I am asking for help to move my family to a better situation, closer to family support. Divorce is after the move. I want to thank everyone for reading our troubles and hope for your assistance.
