Asking for mutual aid from community

So yeah. As ya know I’ve been struggling pretty hard in terms of work and daily survival. The DJ “residency” I’ve been working down in DC has been canceling on me just days before the gig, and the missing pay has been detrimental to my survival and my family I help out.

Just a few days ago I was personally referred to work a party that would have gotten me out of poverty for at least a few weeks and I kept up my end of communication as best I could, but allegedly they “never got my follow up email” and hired someone else less than two days later.

I am saddened by these “promoters” that think nothing of taking food out of poor disabled Black artist’s mouths. I’m tired of begging my friends daily for funds for food. It just isn’t right to be promised $500-600 for an event then end up with nothing. I just need to be able to pay some bills, have money for food for me and my rabbit and be able to continue to help my family. Thank you so much for your time.
