A Call for Help – Supporting a Grandmother and Her Grandchildren in Need
Dear friends and family,
I’m reaching out today with a heavy heart and a sincere request for help. One of my staff members is going through a deeply challenging situation, and I’m hoping that together, we might be able to make a difference.
She’s currently caring for her four young grandkids, 3 boys & 1 girl, ages six months to five years old. These precious children are in urgent need of clothing, food, and basic necessities. The grandmother has been doing all she can—seeking help from Child Protective Services and various local agencies—but unfortunately, she’s had little success. Despite her efforts, she’s now facing this overwhelming responsibility on her own.
She came to me today, not to complain, but to ask for help. And it truly touched my heart. She’s trying to support her daughter, who is battling addiction, but most of all she’s focused on protecting and providing for her grandkids—ensuring they are fed, clothed, and cared for.
So I’m reaching out to you—my community, my friends, my family. If you have any gently used clothing for boys (sizes infant to toddler), know of any resources or services in the D.C. area, or if you feel moved to give a monetary donation to help buy them essentials, anything you can offer would be a blessing.
Please feel free to message me directly if you can help in any way. Together, I believe we can surround this family with the support, compassion, and hope they so desperately need.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for opening your heart.
With Love & Gratitude,
Keith Childs
