Help Support our Friend Ashley's Grief Journey

Donation protected
Ashleys friends and family have come together to organize this fundraiser as a way to support our friend/sister who recently lost her partner Jacob Dylan Chidley in a tragic mountaineering incident.

Though Ashley is hesitant to accept donations from friends and family, we are asking for donations (no amount is too small) to support our dear friend so she can navigate this incredibly challenging time and focus on healing and grieving, rather than worrying about all the financial stressors that linger in the background. The loss of Jacob has left those who knew him, grappling with a profound loss and sadness.

We also wanted to share a little bit about Jacob. For context, those who know Ashley, know she has a passion for the outdoors and climbing. When she moved to Vancouver, she found herself meeting her now closest friends through their shared love of the mountains. One of the people she met through this sport was Jacob. From the moment Jacob entered Ashleys life, those closest to her knew she had found someone special. Though they started out just friends, their bond was strengthened when Ashley broke her tibia, and Jacob stopped by nearly every day to show his support and keep her spirits high as she struggled to accept a much more stagnant lifestyle while she healed. Jacobs unwavering support as he cheered Ashley on through her recovery journey was a true testament to his character and the type of person he was to everyone who knew him.

One of Ashleys favourite memories with Jacob was the Crack of Noon Club. It was special for so many reasons. It was Ashley's first alpine lead. They had a long day, and accidentally pulled the rope after the first rap while it still had the knot. All ended well and they stopped for a snack break, and for Jacob to work on his 'V10' problem. They finished the long walk out and had the most refreshing beers waiting for them in the car. They changed their shoes, drank beer, and looked at the stars in the Slesse region. Jacob and Ashley both loved that day.

Jacobs' tragic and untimely passing has left an immense hole in the hearts of everyone who knew him. Please help us support Ashey in picking up the pieces.

Thank you in advance <3
