Many of us take it for granted the opportunities we have to become successful members of our society. Unfortunately, there are many that don’t even have the very necessities to make any of this possible.
Asher's Closet plans to contribute more than sneakers and clothing. Founder Joey Noble is preparing to create a movement. He'll be the first to admit, that he often falls into the pit of, “out of sight out of mind” when it comes to ethical and economic issues. Millions are feeling forgotten, overwhelmed, underpaid and out of time. And yet, those who can continue to strive and provide as best they can, with a lack of funds and support, these individuals have made up in their mind that they are going to do something with or without major support. And those who can’t, find themselves suffering and dying in need.
There are three main problems that the earth is facing which can be directly correlated with human activity. Climate Change, The Water Crisis and Homelessness.
Climate Change: There is no hiding climate change. Our weather patterns can hardly be predicted anymore. More and more of our habitable areas are becoming inhabitable. Many of our animal species are becoming more and more extinct, and you don’t even need to be in a Third World country to experience a famine or a drought, just ask California.
The Water Shortage: According to the UN (United Nations) more than 20% of the population (about 2.4 billion people) suffer without access to plain water. That’s one out of five people. Almost 300,000 kids under the age of 5 die every year due to diarrhea-related diseases because of poor water supply. Once again, you don’t need to be in a Third World country to experience a water crisis, just ask Flint Michigan.
Homelessness: Nearly 10% of the world's population (800 million people) are considered homeless/living in poverty. That is 1 out of 10. Yes, this can be related to life choices but is primarily due to job shortages, housing shortages, educational red tape and a lack of generational home building.
