Cassandra is one of the strongest, most loving mothers you could ever meet. She recently welcomed her beautiful baby boy, Asher, into the world at just 34 weeks. Born weighing 4 lbs 12 oz, Asher is a tiny fighter and is currently receiving specialized care at SickKids in Toronto.

Asher is facing several medical challenges early in life, including a bowel obstruction that may require surgery, a possible heart defect, and a few other concerns that doctors are closely monitoring. While he is in the best hands possible, the road ahead is uncertain and incredibly emotional for his parents.

While Cassandra and Charles remain in Toronto to be by Asher’s side every step of the way. Cassandra’s two other children are back home in Sudbury, making this already emotional time even more challenging. They are currently staying in a hotel while awaiting a room at Ronald McDonald House, and the costs of accommodations, meals, travel, and time away from work are adding up quickly.

This family’s only focus right now should be on loving and supporting Asher as he grows stronger each day — not worrying about finances. We’re hoping to come together as a community to help ease that burden, so Cassandra can continue being the incredible mother she is to all three of her children.
