Let us help ALL Asbury Park residents who live below the poverty level to have a chance to enjoy Mother Nature - the beach - during the day when life guards are on duty.
There are so many families, especially those with children and teens, who cannot afford the hefty annual, or daily, fees to swim and play on the beach during the day in the summer months.
For this reason, many underprivileged families and kids go to the beach in the evening, after badge checkers are gone for the day. Unfortunately, this means the life guards are also gone for the day, which is incredibly dangerous. This is when most drownings tend to occur.
We are all neighbors, and we all have a right to enjoy the natural resources in our community.
We are working with both the Boys & Girls Club in Asbury Park & Trinity Church to ensure our entire community has access to our beaches, not just more wealthy community members.
The funds donated will allow us to buy seasonal beach badges for adults and children. We will provide a receipt for each donation & beach badge bought. The badges bought will be distributed via the Boys & Girls Club & Trinity Church, who will be trusted to distribute these beach badges to families who live below the poverty level.
( Seasonal Rates Adults: $70; Teens (13-17) and Seniors (62+ with valid ID): $20; Kids (12 and under), Active Military Personnel and their dependents, Disabled Veterans: Free )
All donations via Gofundme go directly into a Credit Union Account in Ocean, NJ.
Checks and Pay Pal donations can be directed to the Dale Caldwell Foundation, and labeled as "Asbury Park Community Beach Project"

Dale Caldwell is the amazing son of Asbury Park's civil rights leader - The late Rev. Gil Caldwell - https://rmnetwork.org/author/gcaldwell, and has graciously offered to accept check and Paypal donations on our behalf, via his registered Non-profit.
