Every Ramadan I choose a charity to Fundraise for but this year I’ll be supporting a cause that’s closer to home.

My family & Extended family in Bangladesh have been running this Orphanage & Madrasa for a few years with no government funding or external fundraisers. This orphanage has purely been a passion project for us, Inspired by my Grandparents who were known among the community in Bangladesh for their giving nature and charitable contributions as well as their commitment to Deen. 

This project started with the community mosque and in in 2021 we pooled our funds to also build this Orphanage in the village beside the mosque where less fortunate children from villages all over Bangladesh are fed and sheltered while being tutored in Hifz and Aalim courses.

This will be the first year where we have actively started fundraising in the hopes to bring in more children who have lost their parents & are unable to take care of themselves.

This orphanage currently provides: 

•Food 

•Full time Boarding 

•Education 

•Clothing 

•Healthcare 

•Medicine 

•Hifz & Aalim tuition 

For the children in residence as well as opening its doors to feed the less fortunate on a regular basis.

 Upon my recent visit to Bangladesh I saw first hand the quality of care that these children receive and the love and attention that went into building this orphanage. From the quality of the tiles down to the facilities available to them and the genuine care and attention they receive- no expense had been spared and it made me so unbelievably proud to see the work that was put into bringing my grandparents dreams to life. In recent Months we lost my beloved grandmother as well as a few other elders in our family whose inspirational lives and charitable contributions have inspired us to push ahead and expand this project to keep this pillar of the community going.
