My name is Rossa O’Donnell and I am a friend of a group of ex Defence Forces colleagues who are undertaking an expedition to the Arctic in 2026. They are hoping to raise funds for Oglaigh Naisiunta na h-Eireann (ONE) to support the excellent work they do in providing support, comradeship, advocacy and remembrance for Irish Veterans. ONE is a registered charity with the charity Regulatory Authority. The group undertaking this challenge, is departing for Svalbard, a Norwegian territory on 13 April and finishing on 21 April. Óglaigh Náisiúnta na hÉireann (ONE) was founded in 1951 to support former members of the Irish Defence Forces and to ensure their service is never forgotten.

This expedition is a way for former service personnel to continue serving — by helping their fellow veterans.
