My name is Sara Bock, and I am a student at Temple University currently enrolled in an Honors Leadership class. As part of our course, students are encouraged to work in groups to identify a meaningful organization in our community to support and give back to. My team is planning to volunteer at Northern Children's Services, a non-profit organization based in Philadelphia that is dedicated to behavioral health care for youth and families in at-risk situations. We plan to bring an arts-and-crafts-based event to Northern Children's in mid-April, and are fundraising for supplies to bring to our volunteer event and to donate to Northern Children's.

We hope that by providing arts and crafts activities, the children will experience a calming outlet and have the opportunity to distract their minds from the challenges they face. Our goal is to create a supportive and joyful environment where the kids can express themselves creatively and enjoy a positive experience, even if just for a day.
