Art Studio... Help Us Grow!
This request does not come easily as your support has meant the world to the studio, and it is not easy to ask for a little bit more.
The studio is a small but mighty inclusive space in Gaslight Village, that prides itself on nurturing creativity, education, and having fun! I am happy to say that the studio brings people as close as around the corner as a staple in their day, and from as far as the lakeshore as a destination for artists 3-103 years young.
We love our location in Gaslight Village as it is a break away from the hustle of Grand Rapids and speaks to and supports mental well-being with its lovely flower-lined streets, old-world vibe, and a lake to relax at right down the road.
I am requesting funding because we would like to GROW!
In our space, we have spent a little over a year educating, creating, and having fun with over 1200 children, families, and groups from Grand Rapids and surrounding communities in home & after-school art classes and camps, and evening classes. We have loved hosting 100+ birthday parties, invited community groups and schools to the studio, and traveled to nearby centers to teach classes that promote mental well-being. Our weekly open studio times provide a safe and nurturing space for artists of all ages and walks of life an opportunity to explore ideas and build community without financial limitations.
We are also excited to have a growing non-profit branch of the studio that is specifically for the support of neurodivergent artists as a space for community and creativity…it is wonderful.
Our community is amazing, supportive, and fun, and it’s more than I had hoped for. It's a dream come true and my 8-year-old self is glowing with joy.
But, we are not quite at the spot where we can take it to the next level while maintaining regular costs, and this is where I am asking for support. Our request is lofty, but so are our dreams:)
I am reaching out for assistance in the hopes of adding 3-D art options, and hopefully, technology, to the curriculums and offerings at the studio, offset some of the supply costs associated with our growing branch for neurodivergent artists, assisting with operational costs while making transitions... and ADDING AN ART GALLERY!
Having a space to showcase and bring attention to amazing local and regional artists is the last part of the vision for the studio. We would love to have rotating shows where people can meet the artists that they see locally and regionally, as an opportunity for kids through adults to ask questions and chat with people whose work they see every day around town and (and on the interwebs) so that they can envision themselves in the art world.
Other ways to support the studio and our mission: tell a friend…tell two friends, bring your friend group to a class, hold an event in our space, stop by for open studio, and consider sponsoring events at the studio.
It all helps!
Every dollar received will help us keep our space thriving and spread the confidence that comes with saying 'I'm An Artist'.
Again, thank you for your support and for your time and I hope you have a lovely day.
